Make PDF Searchable (OCR)

Use Optical Character Recognition to extract selectable text from scanned documents.

ℹ️ Keep in Mind

OCR text recognition is not 100% accurate, especially for handwriting, low-quality scans, or non-English text—always review the extracted text before relying on it. Currently supports files up to 3 pages.

Unlock Scanned Text

When you scan a physical paper into a PDF, the computer doesn't see words; it just sees a flat image. This means you can't search for keywords, and you certainly can't highlight or copy a paragraph into an email. To fix this, you need to use PDF OCR (Optical Character Recognition).

Our tool acts as a powerful image to text converter. It scans the pixels of your document, recognizes the shapes of letters, and creates an invisible layer of real text right over the image. Suddenly, your flat scan becomes a fully interactive, searchable, and selectable document.

Best of all, we utilize advanced client-side technologies to run the OCR engine right in your browser. Unlike other services that force you to upload your sensitive medical records or legal scans to a third-party server for processing, your data remains safely on your computer.

How to OCR Your File

  1. Upload Scan: Provide the image-based PDF.
  2. Select Language: Choose the language the document is written in for better accuracy.
  3. Process: The browser will analyze the images and extract the text.
  4. Download: Save the new file. You can now copy and paste the text freely!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is OCR 100% accurate?

No OCR engine is perfect. Its accuracy depends heavily on the quality of the original scan. Smudged ink, low resolution, or complex handwritten cursive may result in typos in the extracted text.

Does it work on handwriting?

It works exceptionally well on printed text (like books or receipts). It can recognize very neat block handwriting, but cursive handwriting is extremely difficult to extract accurately.
